About us
The European Union is increasingly focusing on metropolitan regions because this is where the social, economic and ecological challenges of the future lie. Many decisions taken in Brussels are also of central importance to our region.
For this reason, the FrankfurtRheinMain metropolitan region has decided to make itself visible in Brussels and at the same time take the European idea to the region. Our European Office in FrankfurtRheinMain was opened for this purpose. By having a representative bureau in Brussels and headquarters in Frankfurt, we are always up to date on funding programmes, regulations, guidelines and initiatives, and can promptly inform our local municipalities and partners on all European developments important to them.
The European Office is operated by the Regional Authority FrankfurtRheinMain whose office in Frankfurt also houses our headquarters. We also receive financial support from numerous towns and districts in the metropolitan region, and from regional partners.
The representative bureau of our European Office is located in the "Mehr-Regionen-Haus" of the State of Hesse in the heart of Brussels' European quarter. We are then able to actively represent our metropolitan region's interests directly in Brussels and take an active role in European funding. We formulate statements, participate in networks and maintain close contact with experts, lobby groups and EU institutions.
