Representing interests

Getting noticed – Having a say – Stating opinions

As the European Office, our central task is to represent the interests of the FrankfurtRheinMain metropolitan region in Brussels. The Commission sometimes loses sight of regional issues so we aim to ensure that our regional concerns are heard in the European Union.

Increasingly, it is the regions where social, economic and ecological challenges need to be overcome. The growing importance of regions requires addressing at a European level because European Union objectives can be implemented locally through funded projects. As the FrankfurtRheinMain metropolitan region, we are therefore actively discussing and producing statements for a sufficiently funded European cohesion policy. We also have the specific aim of ensuring the interests of economically stronger European regions are not ignored. We are also involved with other regions in European networks in representing our common interests.
